Metaphysics
Light, Day, Night (53)
Out of nothing came the lights used for day and night, which we know as the Sun and the stars. These came into being within total darkness from nothing but a void as God spoke or commanded them.
Astronomy
Sun, Earth, Cycle (54)
The Sun was created right after the Earth and was in its rotation, thus it had a dark side and a light side in a cycle creating a period of daylight and a period of darkness. The stars may not have been there yet. This ended a first 24-hour period.
Science
Plants, Animals, Life, Growth, Cycle (55)
After the Earth had been formed, the Sun had to be created next before anything could grow on it. Every form of life on earth needs the energy from the Sun to grow. Even things that grow in total darkness on the earth have their life source in the Sun. The cycles of light and dark (day and night) are necessary for life and well-being in both plants and animals.
