The first animal was sacrificed to make clothing for the first man and woman. It was apparent that the leaves from the fig were not enough, in the eyes of the Lord, to cover them sufficiently. The figs seemed only to cover the loins. God demonstrated that it was shameful to show certain parts of the body, by lack of clothing.
