Hyssop, Marjoram 
The herb hyssop, also called marjoram, is harvested in dry places among the rocks. A spice, a tonic and a digestive aid, hyssop was the Bible’s “brush of salvation” that for spreading the blood of lambs on door posts to spare the Israelites from the death angel in Egypt. It was also used in purification ceremonies to cleanse those who came in contact with lepers or corpses. Hyssop stops bleeding (as an astringent) and effectively masks odors; it has been used traditionally as a remedy for colds, inflammation, and rheumatism; it has also been used as a digestive aid.
